100% Made in the
100% Made in the Commonwealth is at the core of what the CFC advocates. We want to create a culture producing 100% fashion goods within the Commonwealth.
We want to encourage industries across the Commonwealth to come together to create products, responsible networks, and to support ethical and sustainable production and to protect regional crafts.
The ‘push’ is aimed at spreading the wealth across the Commonwealth Fashion Industries (CFI’s) and by doing so promoting trade, development, education, youth and gender empowerment – which reflects our principle objective.
Last year the CFC worked with Rift Africa and the Strategic Fashion Development Consortium to create a tote bag made in Kenya, designed in the United Kingdom.
This year Exim Bank part of the Bank of India are partnering with the CFC to bring together a fashion designer from Colombo Fashion Week and cork manufacturers in India to create a back pack.
